A Half-Day of Prayer

Prayer......it is the way in which we communicate with the God of the Universe. It moves the hands of God into action. We know God longs to hear the prayers of the saints and that we do not have because we do not ask.

I want to be known to God as a prayer-warrior. I've wondered through the years what this looks like to a mother with many young ones. I don't have it figured out.

However, during my quiet time while the little ones napped yesterday, God lead me to offer a half-day of prayer to a dear friend of mine who was in a valley and could use a healing touch from God.

The idea formulated in my mind of taking her children for the afternoon hours to give her the chance to meet with God uninterrupted. She could prayer walk, read the Word, crank the worship music, or belt out her frustrations and fears ALL IN THE SOLITUDE THAT ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE LITTLE ONES.

What an exciting idea! We offer this type of babysitting service often when we need to go to the doctor or the grocery store, but for prayer? How much more so is it needed?

What an awesome way to minister to a mother with small children and my children loved their play-day with friends. I pray with certainty that our God met with her intimately and gave her a special Word.

Thank you God for such an obvious way in which to serve.

  2. You are so mean, to start a blog and then leave it so lonely and leave me stalking. . .

  3. I had room in my life for blogging before Stu started this huge upstairs remodel. LOL. You aren't the only one to comment such. I really need to sit and output. I've been making crazy lists like you do with random blog topics....ughh..Guess I should move it up the priority list.

  4. giggle, I have a list waiting for me, too! :) I keep just doing the short ones, b/c I have short little bursts of time. I'll warn you, though, something that seems like a great blog when you jot the 'crazy list' sorta loses its 'oomph' weeks later. :)
